Richland Baseball Begins Season Jan. 28

BASEBALL SCHEDULE

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's baseball team will open the season with a doubleheader at home against Vernon College Jan. 28.

The Thunderducks, under new coach Jim Leggett, will play 28 home games, including 27 against National Junior College Athletic Association opponents.

Richland will meet Bossier Parish Community College on the road Feb. 6-7 for a three-game series before returning home to host Eastern Oklahoma State College, McCook Community College (doubleheader) and Clarendon College (doubleheader) Feb. 9-14. The Thunderducks visit Northeast Texas Community College Feb. 16, host Galveston College Feb. 21 and play at Ranger College Feb. 23 before beginning conference play.

The Thunderducks open Dallas College Athletic Conference action Feb. 25 at home against Dallas College Mountain View. The final two games of the three-game series will be played at Mountain View Feb. 27-28. After a road trip to Eastern Oklahoma State March 2, the Thunderducks begin another DAC series at Dallas College Brookhaven March 4. Richland hosts the final two games March 6-7. The Thunderducks will play at Murray State College March 9 and begin a DAC series at Dallas College Cedar Valley March 11. They host the Suns March 13-14.

Richland will play at Paris Junior College March 16 before hosting Panola College March 17 during Spring Break. The Thunderducks resume DAC action March 25 when they host Dallas College Eastfield. The series wraps up in Mesquite, Texas March 27-28. Following a road trip to Angelina College March 30, the Thunderducks conclude the first round of DAC play with a three-game series against Dallas College North Lake April 1-3, with the final two games at home.

After completing the home-and-home with Paris April 6 in Dallas, Richland begins the second round of DAC play at Mountain View April 8, with the series concluding at home April 10-11. That begins a four-game homestand, with a nonconference game against Murray State scheduled for April 13 and the series opener against Brookhaven April 15.

The Thunderducks host Angelina April 20 and Cedar Valley April 22. They play at Cedar Valley April 24-25 to finish the season series with the Suns. After road trips to Panola April 27 at Eastfield April 29, the Thunderducks host the Harvester Bees  May 1-2. They conclude the regular season in a three-game series with North Lake May 6-9, with the first game at home.

The NJCAA Division III District Tournament is May 13-16.
