Posten Claims DAC Pitcher of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Richland's JT Posten was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

A freshman right-hander from Kempner, Texas, Posten went 1-0 with a save, while not allowing an earned run in three appearances last week. He worked 7 2/3 innings of relief, allowing two unearned runs, two hits and four walks, while striking out six batters. The Thunderducks went 3-0 in the games he pitched.

Posten got the win in Richland's series-clinching Game 3 victory at Dallas College Mountain View Saturday. He worked 3 2/3 innings, allowing two walks and a pair of unearned runs to improve to 2-0. In the first game of the series with the Lions, he tossed the final three innings of shutout relief to earn the save, giving up a hit and two walks, while fanning a season-high five. Earlier in the week, in a 9-7 nonconference win at National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Ranger College, he pitched one shutout inning, yielding just a hit, while recording a strikeout.

Posten has a 3.60 earned run average and 14 strikeouts in seven relief appearances this season.

Following Monday's game at Eastern Oklahoma State College, Richland (9-7-1, 2-1 DAC) begins a three-game series at Dallas College Brookhaven (6-14, 1-2) at noon Wednesday. The final two games of the series scheduled for Friday and Saturday are at Richland.
