Thunderducks Roll to 118-80 Win over Mountain View
DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's ninth-ranked men's basketball team beat Dallas College Mountain View, 118-80, Wednesday night.
It was the most points the Thunderducks (12-8, 5-2 Dallas Athletic Conference) have scored this season, and the most since they put up 121 in a 49-point win over Southwest Institute Prep, now Southwest Preparatory School, Nov. 16, 2018 at Mountain View. It also marks the fourth time this season they have scored 100 or more points this season.
Richland's Taven Washington scored a career-high 30 points on 10 of 13 shooting. He was 8-for-10 from the free throw line, had seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Zion Bourgious had 22 points, going 8 of 10 from the floor and 6 of 8 from the free throw line.
The Thunderducks raced out to a 59-32 halftime lead. They mirrored their scoring production in the second half, putting another 59 points on the scoreboard.
Richland shot 57.3 percent from the field, going 43 of 75. They were 9 of 22 from the 3-point line and 23 of 34 from free throw line. Mountain View (13-13, 0-7) shot 45.6 percent, going 31 of 68 from the field. The Lions were 15 of 22 at the free throw line.
Richland's Tre'Lin Green finished with 12 points, four assists, four rebounds and two blocks. Barack Holland had 11 points, two steals and a block. He was 4 of 6 from the field, including 3 of 5 from three-point distance. Cjay Ingram had 10 points, 10 boards and four assists.
The Thunderducks outrebounded the Lions, 38-28. Mountain View had 11 offensive rebounds to Richland's eight.
Doviyon Bradford scored 36 points on 14 of 20 shooting for the Lions. He was 8-for-9 at the free throw line, and had seven rebounds, three steals and three assists. His 36 points were one off his season high. Evan Awodipe had nine points and five boards. Tracy White also scored nine points. Louis Conner finished with seven points, five assists and a steal.
Richland will host Dallas College Brookhaven (14-11, 3-4) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
