Holland Named DAC MVP

Dallas College Richland's Barack Holland was named the Most Valuable Player of the Dallas Athletic Conference.

He was joined by Cjay Ingram as First Team All-DAC selections. Mannie Odo was a Second Team pick. Jon Havens was named co-Coach of the Year.

A sophomore guard from Dallas, Holland averages 12.5 points and 1.4 steals per game, while shooting 36.6 percent from the 3-point line and 72 percent from the free throw stripe as Richland (20-11) enters the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Tournament next week in Herkimer, New York. A sophomore guard from Kilgore, Texas, Ingram averages 11.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.9 steals, while shooting 73 percent from the free throw line. A sophomore forward from McKinney, Texas, Odo is good for 10.3 points and 6.1 rebounds, while shooting 52.3 percent from the floor.

Havens helped the Thunderducks capture the DAC regular season title. Richland earned an at-large bid to the national tournament.
