Escorcia Signs with SMU Soccer

DALLAS -- Dallas College Richland men's soccer player Felipe Escorcia will be attending Southern Methodist University, making history as the first Dallas College student-athlete to sign with the Mustangs.

A center midfielder, Escorcia earned National Junior College Athletic Association Division III and United Soccer Coaches All-American honors in 2023 with the Thunderducks, and was a member of back-to-back national championship teams. He scored eight goals, and had 20 assists for 36 points as a sophomore.
 
Escorcia will play for Coach Kevin Hudson as SMU makes the move to the Atlantic Coast Conference in the fall.
 
Felipe will become only the second Richland product to participate in the ACC after All-American Lorenzo Boselli joined Syracuse in 2022 en route to winning the NCAA National Championship with the Orangemen.
