Ramirez Named National Goalie of Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Richland's Jessica Ramirez was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.

A freshman from Dallas, Ramirez stopped nine of 10 shots last week in a pair of wins for the Thunderducks. She made six saves in a shutout of Dallas College North Lake. Ramirez had three saves in one half in a win over Dallas College Eastfield.

This season, Ramirez is 3-1 with a 1.43 goals against average and 28 saves in four appearances.

Richland (7-4-1) will play in the NJCAA South District semifinals 7 p.m. Monday at Dallas College Brookhaven.
