DALLAS – Dallas College Richland women's soccer team beat Dallas College Cedar Valley 3-1 Tuesday to complete the first half of Dallas Athletic Conference action.
The Thunderducks (3-3-1, 3-1-1 DAC) are in second place in the league after the first round. Richland hosts Dallas College Mountain View (3-3-0, 2-3-0) at 6 p.m. Friday to begin the second half of DAC play.
Kaylee Haskins scored twice for Richland in the win.
Haskins' first goal came in the 15th minute on an assist from Mariah Ahmed to put the Thunderducks on the board. Cedar Valley (3-3-2, 1-3-1) tied the game in the 21st minute when Victory Oyoyo Peter scored an unassisted goal.
Linzy Villa gave Richland the lead for good in the 55th minute on an assist from Dakota Ramirez. It was Villa's second gamewinning goal of the season. She also assisted on Haskins' second goal in the 60th minute to give the Thunderducks the two-goal lead.
Meghan Allen was credited with 11 saves for Richland. Cedar Valley's Danna Vargas stopped 10 shots.
